Inviting those interested in our venture and in experimental cultivation.
Macadamia, popular in European countries and native to Australia, is now well-known in the world. For many people, macadamia is a part of their daily diet. Recognizing the market potential of its oilseeds, its cultivation is being done in most countries around the world. Although many in our country have been cultivating it on an experimental basis for a long time, it has not succeeded as expected. This may be due to shortcomings in its cultivation methods or our climate. Anyway, Anusyut, a native of Malappuram, Kottakkal, is moving forward with the experiment of these Australian oilseeds.

Anusyut operates out of Kottakkal. Anusyut entered this field after an in-depth study of the macadamia market in European countries. Recognizing the potential of macadamia, Anusyut is trying to expand its cultivation as a long-term crop.
In the first phase, he started a nursery on an experimental basis, produced saplings, and began distribution. The income from that was used to expand the macadamia nursery. Currently, Anusyut has a macadamia orchard and an associated nursery in Malappuram, Kottakkal. Here too, cultivation is being done on an experimental basis.
Field note: Anusyut also cultivates in Thiruvilwamala in Palakkad district. Various varieties of macadamia are planted here.
When cultivated at a spacing of 12X12 feet, up to 300 saplings can be planted per acre. Due to climate change, cultivation methods are also changing. Anusyut says that if the soil and climate are made suitable for the crops, success can be assured.
In Thiruvilwamala, the varieties 600, 900, and 1,200 are being tested.

Anusyut has 30 saplings produced through grafting-layering methods. Saplings of all varieties of macadamia are available here. This is a long-term crop. The saplings fetch a good price. Accordingly, a good yield is also obtained. Therefore, Anusyut is interested in expanding macadamia cultivation as part of his venture.
Important timeline: It takes about 10-15 years for trees grown from seeds to bear fruit. However, budded saplings will bear fruit within 3 years.

A project is being run under the leadership of the central Ministry of Agriculture with the aim of introducing Indian agricultural methods and products to African countries. As part of that, Anusyut has received an opportunity to expand macadamia cultivation in African countries.
For the year 2023-24, permission has also been obtained to export macadamia cultivation methods and saplings to African countries. As part of that, various types of macadamia saplings, crops, products, and value-added products are all being exported.
As a first step, in 2022, as part of the Australia-India Economic Co-operation and Trade Agreement (AI-ECTA), the import duty on macadamia nuts has been waived. This gives farmers a lot of hope. The import duty was supposed to be waived by 30% by 2028.
Macadamia cultivation is something that can bring great financial benefits. Therefore, Anusyut invites those who are interested in expanding macadamia cultivation as part of their venture, and those interested in macadamia cultivation, to their venture.
