Philip Mathew, who brings more than 50,000 liters of honey to the market annually, also provides equipment for beekeeping and training for entrepreneurs.

The big misconception that hives cannot be established in rubber plantations without other agriculture was debunked. A group arrived at Philip Mathew’s house after seeing a note about beekeeping in the plantation. Their argument was that good honey comes from the rubber trees in the plantation. They also came to hear and understand the wonders of beekeeping.
When Philip Mathew of Vadakkottayil started to explain, they couldn’t understand it at first. However, they became convinced that there was no exaggeration in calling him ‘Theneecha Philip’ (Bee Philip) and that he authoritatively knew every word about beekeeping. They returned with minds full of honey. This also sowed the seeds for new ventures.
Philip sells every drop of honey with added medicinal properties. Philip has unique methods in both beekeeping and honey marketing.
Philip’s method is to rear bee colonies found on roadsides, in agricultural fields, on small islands, on tree branches, etc., in their natural surroundings. Philip sees them as a protective shield in adverse weather conditions and as helpers in plant pollination.
Honey from the box has up to 20% water content. The machines to eliminate this and enhance the quality are also Philip’s own inventions, which cause no headaches.
He has also received a fitting award for his innovative discoveries. Philip, who entered agriculture in 1993, now has seven excellent honey production centers in Kerala.
Philip has also amassed many awards for his knowledge of beekeeping.
